The Tudors

The Tudors is a historical fiction television series with elements that was devised by British screenwriter Michael Hirst and written. The series is loosely based on the reign of the English monarch Henry VIII.



The series is from Peace Arch Entertainment for Showtime in association with Reveille Eire (Ireland), Working Title Films (United Kingdom) and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (Canada) produced. The series was filmed in Ireland. The first two episodes were shown before the actual premiere on Showtime on DirecTV, Time Warner Cable OnDemand, Netflix, Verizon FiOS On Demand, Internet Movie Database and on the website of the series. On 11 April 2007 was the series premiere on Showtime. In April 2007 the show was renewed for the second season and in the same month the BBC announced that it has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights for Britain. The squadron was from 5 October 2007 sent. On the CBC from Canada was the squadron from the 2nd October 2007 sent. The first season was repeated in April 2008 on the CBC digital channel Bold. Early in 2010, the fourth and final season, which is rotated at the time in Dublin, Ireland, broadcast in the U.S.
